I see your face and I get inspired
When I am at my lowest there is nothing that inspires me more than my children. I want to be the best role model I can be, and this doesn’t mean being perfect, it means being me. They inspire me to be authentic and to live my truth, to case my dreams, to get out of bed in my darkest hours. They inspire me to face the storms and walk bravely into battle. They inspire me to dance in the rain and sing with the birds. They inspire me to build sandcastles, jump in the waves and climb mountains. I want them to know me, the real me, I want them to know that I love life, that I love being creative, swimming, laughing, writing, being surrounded by trees. I want them to know I love their father beyond words, and that I love them to the moon and back, and then even further than that . . . .
Today we had a family picnic and I took about 40 photos of just my kids, lol.
Hubby was busy snapping scenery shots with his film camera.
Here are a few of my pics.
One of todays Friday Reflections Prompts was to write a list of twenty things that ‘Inspire‘ me. The first of which is my gorgeous, vibrant children. Here are my other 19 in no particular order.
- My hubby. He inspires me to be the best version of myself.
- My parents. Who inspire me to never give up and always keep fighting.
- Trees. When I walk through bushland I feel a sense of being home. I also feel inspired to create when I am surrounded by trees.
- Kind hearted people.
- Being happy. The happier I feel the more I want to feel it.
- Interior Design. I love anything to do with interior design, I see beautiful materials and I feel inspired.
- Art. Beautiful art moves me, I feel so inspired when I am surrounded by art.
- Camera. When I am holding my camera in my hand I just want to create and take a million photos, as my children know too well. (And the evidence proves above). Hubby is just as bad! Check us both out on Instagram @macglanville & @photoglanville.
- Seeing people or animals hurt. When I see people or animals in pain, neglected or abused I want to make a change, I feel inspired to help people and end abuse. I guess that is what made me become a nurse and also what made me rescue our animals.
- Nature, like I said with the trees I just feel so inspired by nature, how could you not?
- Amazing authors, when I read their novels I feel inspired to better myself as a writer and get my book out there.
- Photography. Like art, I am inspired by beautiful photography.
- Women who are strong, feminine, kind and wise.
- Music, inspires me to dance.
- My readers. I always feel inspired when I get comments saying I have helped someone or inspired someone.
- Parents who have suffered so much loss, yet manage to find a way to move forward and help others.
- People who live with serious illness or disability, yet they live bravely and with kindness and inspire people everywhere.
- My Grandparents. Knowing what they all went through and yet they were amazing people.
- The ocean, it is wild and untamed, and mesmerising. It clears my mind and inspires me to live fully, to get out there and embrace life!
So that is my list off the top of my head, who knows if it would be slightly different tomorrow? What inspires you? I’d love to hear from you so leave me a comment below or send me a tweet @macglanville. Maybe you might want to write a list and link it up below?
Thank you for joining me, love Mac xx

I love your list Mackenzie and your children are beautiful. Simple things inspire me – seeing the wonder in my grandson’s eyes, the ocean, the blue, blue sky. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I always enjoy your posts.xx

Your children are so beautiful!! Few things are as inspiring as a child’s smile, right? 🙂 I love your entire list, and can relate to them all. This time of year in the US it is spring, so all of the blooming flowers are really inspiring me. Love, love beautiful flowers!
