I am in awe of your beauty, I wonder even how such beauty can exist. You amaze me with your power and strength, yet you are subtle in your own way. Your shower me with rain and warm me with the sun, you are truly miraculous. You sprinkle my life with stars and fill my senses with your blossom. You give me fruits to feed my body and beauty to feed my soul. Today I want to thank you for all that you are, and all you enrich my life with.
One of this weeks prompts is to write a thank you letter, I wrote a post on Wednesday about gratitude and being grateful for the things and people in our life, so I thought I would follow that with my thank you letter. When I thought about who I want to thank, well let’s just say the list was huge. From my parents, my children, my gorgeous hubby and friends, to the many women who have inspired me and shown strength beyond belief throughout my 38 years. How do I choose who to thank when there are so many people?
The thing is I shouldn’t wait until today to thank them, just like I shouldn’t only acknowledge my father on fathers day, or thank my sister on her birthday for being an amazing role model. The people in my life deserve to know and be told on a regular basis just how grateful I am to have them in my life. My children need to hear that I love them every single day, they need to know that even when I’m tired and frustrated that I am so grateful that they call me mummy.
Click to Tweet: Tell the people you love that you are grateful to have them in your life.
But there is something else I am grateful for and that is my life, the gift of life and getting to live in this miraculous world. There have been many times I have cursed being born, or wished the ground would just swallow me up, when times were tough and I couldn’t see my way through the darkness, but then a light would shine through and the universe would assure me that life was worth living, that life was a gift.
Although I didn’t always appreciate the magnificence of nature, as there were times I took mountains, birds, stars and trees for granted, I can now say that when I stop and look around I see so much beauty in this world we live in. I am so lucky to live in a country where I am surrounded by breathtaking beaches, lush mountain ranges, green fields and red deserts. So today I am grateful for the earth, for the universe, and so I say thank you to this beautiful world I live in.
I urge you to open your hearts, to look around at the beautiful people and places in your life and say thank you today for all the good in your world. Practice gratitude every single day.
What are you grateful for? Who would you like to thank today?
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx
