I woke up this morning to the sounds of giggling girls. My daughters snuck in our room to see if we were awake yet, luckily we were . . . just. It was 8 o’clock so we were pretty happy with that. Surprisingly Adam was still asleep, all of yesterdays fun must have worn him out, either that or his bed was just super comfy! We feel so lucky to be having this weekend away at BIG4 Anglesea Holiday Park. Once Adam woke up it was 5 in the bed, loads of laughs and hugs, it was just so great to have relaxed family time.
We treated ourselves to chocolate croissants for breakfast and some coffee, nice way to wake up.
Adam has discovered a love for Chess, he is obsessed. He just saw me posting this photo and said “mummy if we ever go to a BIG4 again, can it be this one because I love the chess”!
He is actually surprisingly good at it given he’d never played before.
After a morning of games, we had worked up an appetite. Sue the receptionist had told us about the hidden jewel of the Surf Coast McGain’s Nursery Cafe Organic Food Store. Oh my goodness it did not disappoint (proving locals know the best spots). I couldn’t resist ordering the Apple and Caramel Slice, not only did it look great it tasted amazing!
The pistachio and ginger cookie was also delish!
And of course there is no cake without coffee . . . Well not for this girl. The kids enjoyed chocolate cookies and coconut ‘n blackberry muffins with ice-chocolates, they were very happy. The atmosphere was beautiful too!
We couldn’t resist buying some organic fruit, some lovely smelling soap and a few other goodies!
Time to walk off morning tea! Gosh Anglesea is beautiful!
April has a mud pie obsession at the moment (well sand pies, but she calls them mud pies). She took one of last nights Lasagne trays down to the beach to make up her pies. She has such an imagination! (by the way the Lasagne from last night was soooo good! Even my fussy kids ate it and loved it.)
Adam is not short of imagination either, he was quite happily amusing himself.
After a fun time at the beach the kids were super excited to head back to BIG4 to get their complimentary ice-creams.
Then it was pool time! The pool here is amazing, my kids love swimming and I knew it would be hard getting them out once they got in. Having an indoor pool is a bonus too, it means we can swim all year round.
The waterfall feature not only looks great, but it’s fun too.
Adam looks so adorable with his two front teeth missing . . . I guess we know what he wants for Christmas.
After I finally convinced them to get out of the pool and Adam off the waterslide with the promise of fish’n chips for dinner we hit the lovely shower facilities at the pool to rinse off. Steve headed down with April to the local shops and Adam convinced Aspen to play yet another game of chess and then have a jump on the giant jumping pillow, leaving mummy time to blog. (Ok and a glass of Pear Rekorderlig Cider).
Time to enjoy our fish ‘n chips and have some more family time, see you all tomorrow. Follow me on instagram @macglanville

What a beautiful place… Very jealous of the sunshine as we are in autumn over here in the UK. Brill photos too! Oh, and the coffee and cakes look divine! #whatevertheweather
I am so jealous of your warm weather!!! I can’t wait till next year when ours comes around again. What an absolutely stunning place to visit and all of your photos are so beautiful. I couldn’t choose out of any of those cakes, they all sound and look so delicious. I love the edible flowers on top too. What a beautiful touch! How cool is giant chess!!! We have giant draughts somewhere near us but giant chess would be so much more fun. The pieces look really well made. It sounds like you had an amazing holiday. I’ve been seeing your instagram photos crop up and can’t get over how beautiful it looks. Thank you so, so much for sharing this on #whatevertheweather x
Aww, they all look so happy playing together! I love the photo of them with their ice creams too. Definitely need the cake, although I would skip the coffee! We used to play with those giant chess pieces when my now husband worked at a caravan park. They were great fun!
Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x
