We are now well in to January, and here I am following my dream of travelling around beautiful Tasmania and blogging for amazing people who have followed their dreams of opening up their own accommodation businesses. I am thrilled that through my blog I have been able to give my family this fabulous holiday, I feel honoured that these wonderful Tasmanians have opened their hotels, chalets, beach houses and holiday homes to us. Having this opportunity has not only been a dream come true for me, but for my hubby too. He is following his passion of photography and it was his dream to travel through Tasmania and photograph its breathtaking scenery.
I had a dream, it was a dream to write, I ignored my dream for many years as I pursued another career that did not fulfil me. I wasn’t listening to my heart, my soul, I was completely ignoring my inner voice. It got to the point where my inner voice was shouting so loud that I could no longer ignore it. “OK” I said, “what is it you want from me?” I had to stop, I had to breathe, meditate, take walks, be alone, cry, and finally open myself up to what my inner voice was screaming at me. I needed to write, I didn’t just ‘want to write’, I ‘needed to write‘, it was my passion, it was my dream, it was part of who I am.
I started blogging and working hard at writing my novel (which is now being edited as I work on my second novel). I had a dream to inspire people, I had a dream to make people laugh, I had a dream to travel and share beautiful places with my readers that they could stay at. I had a dream and I believed that I could make a difference, and now here I am living that dream. I work hard at my blog, I put in many hours. I write, edit, promote, take photographs, write quotes, choose images, tweet, Facebook, comment on other peoples blogs, run two link ups and even offer advice to other bloggers on how to improve their websites, on top of that I do the occasional Video Blogs which you can find on Youtube. I do this whilst looking after 3 children, juggling a busy life and writing my novel. But I love it because I am doing what makes me happy. And that is the key to a wonderful life, finding your dream and catching it! I am not saying it is easy, there is so much hard work and determination involved, but following your dreams is better than anything you can imagine. It is life changing and life fulfilling. Don’t expect changes over night, don’t expect to never have days where you want to throw it in, but stay focussed, if you fall, get back up, don’t loose sight of your dream ever.
One great way to make your dream a reality is by creating a vision board. One of the main ways many people do that is by using Pinterest and pinning ideas that inspire them. You can find amazing things on Pinterest and I recommend taking a look if you haven’t. But I am also a big advocate for a traditional vision board that you can hang up somewhere in your home and that way it keeps it fresh in your mind.
A vision board works on the law of attraction, it helps you remain focussed on your goal. In simple terms it is a board that you can hang up in your home, perhaps in your office, bedroom or even your bathroom. You use this board as a space where you can attach things that inspire you to follow your dream. This can be quotes, images, photographs, magazine cuttings, or notes you write yourself. A vision board is all about you, it is your vision and it should inspire you to follow your dreams. It can really help you stay on track when you are setting a new life goal.
I will be writing a follow up post about this, so stay tuned, in the follow up blog I will be giving you a guide on how to create the perfect vision board for you. I have been focusing a lot lately on ways you can better you life and turn your dreams into reality. If you have missed my two previous posts on how to go about creating the life you really want I will include links to these at the bottom of this post. For now I will share with you some of the beautiful images we have been able to capture since we have arrived in Tassie. It really is an amazing place to visit!

I love vision boards they really help to keep you motivated. If you are having a bad day, looking at your vision board helps you get back on focus and motivated to achieve.
yes they really work
I have never done a vision board but what a great idea. It sounds like a real motivation, perhaps something I could start doing to give me a boost when my positivity is lacking! Thanks for sharing! #mg
yes it can be great for that boost
Oh wow what a wonderful opportunity, it really does look beautiful. The photos are stunning. I think I might need a vision board. Thank you for hosting Mac xx
It really is a wonderful opportunity, Tasmania is beautiful
A vision board sounds like a great idea, it would be really inspiring. Thanks for hosting x
yes it is great for kids too
I love the idea of the vision board. I, too, am still searching from what my soul wants and I believe I may have found it. I want to write and I want to help survivors of child abuse. Those are my two things I want. I have started with my blog, which I have written several posts about healing and I write fictional stories that I have posted on my blog as well. I would eventually like to publish my work but for now, I am still writing and feeling great about it. I’m not a huge fan of pinterest. I use it for blogging but I prefer the old fashioned vision board so I’ll wait to read your next post on it. Continue enjoying your vacation and the pictures are gorgeous! #mg
sounds like you have found it, so go for it, follow this dream and I’m happy to help in anyway lovely xx
Today I am going to start a Vision Board on Pinterest. I really like the idea. I think that developing a board like this will help keep things in perspective- priorities in life up front. Plus, I love that a vision board can change and adapt as your life and goals change! #mg
that’s right our goals change and that’s great because we all need change. Good on you starting a board!
Your photos are amazing! It looks like such beautiful countryside. I think having a board to inspire you is such a wonderful idea. You always have great ways to motivate & inspire. #mg
