Reflecting back over the year that’s been really makes you stop and realise just how much we manage to fit into a year! There is the everyday stuff like a years worth of doing dishes, making beds, showering, putting on makeup, and the great everyday stuff like hugging my kids, and waking up every morning with the man I love. But when I think about it a lot has happened this year. Here is a list of what comes to mind in no particular order.
- we got our first family pet, followed my more pets, it was an adoption pet frenzy kind of year
- we holidayed in New South Whales
- we holidayed in Queensland
- I did my first promotional work for Big 4 Holiday Parks
- we sold our home
- we started building our new home
- my baby boy started school
- I watched my daughter April blossom into a happier more confident child
- Aspen got a part in the school play
- Aspen got chosen to be the guest performer at the schools dance talent night
- I learnt a lot about myself
- I finished my first novel
- I got to watch my beautiful cousin get married
- my blog has grown so much, and I have met so many amazing people through my blog
- I watched my dad play at the Australian Open
- Road trip fun
Of course there were many hardships during the year too
- Aspen struggled with selling our home
- my father in laws health hasn’t been great
- my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
- I had some personal emotional low points
- my hubby was very sick with an infection in his arm
- April’s kitten died
- my baby boy started school (this was a high and a low for me)
2015 has had its ups and downs, but I feel good about where we are at! There have been some big changes and moments of tears, there have been laughs and celebrations and most of all there has been love. I have seen some horrors in that have occurred in Australia and in many countries around the world, and I have seen the human spirit rise above hate. I have seen so much love, compassion and beauty and that is what I will hold in my heart as we near 2016. What has your 2015 been like?
Thank you for all your support this year. One of the greatest surprises this year has been watching my blog following grow, so to all of you who have subscribed I am truly thankful, it has meant more than I can say.
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx

What a wonderful year you have had Mackenzie and congratulations on the book and also your work with the Big 4 Caravan Parks – a great achievement. I love hearing about your family and what they have been up to this year. There are always some lows but you sound like your ‘highs’ definitely outnumbered them. Thanks for hosting the #FridayReflections link ups. One of my highs was meeting you!
Oh what a lovely thing to say, thank you I have loved meeting you too xx
Hi Mackenzie – that was a year and a half for you – selling a house and building one is hugely stressful but ultimately really rewarding. Thanks so much for hosting #FridayReflections – I’m so glad I found you guys because I love participating xx
Thanks Leanne, it means so much that you have supported our linky xx
I feel so happy when I can join you ladies again!
I knew 2015 was going to be an intense year, but it went much further than I was expecting. It’s neither good or bad. It just IS.
And it was in 2015 that I started interacting with you ladies and that is for sure one of the awesome things that happened to me.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Your year sounds pretty good. I will have to sit down and have a good think about my year. Unfortunately the year has not ended on a high note with someone taking their own life. Lets hope 2016 is a good one
So sorry to hear that, one of my best friends took her own life a few years ago, it is just so hard to accept even now. Always wishing I could have done more, even though logically I know she was determined. Take care of yourself, big hugs xx
Wow, what a busy year! It must be quite nice to see the good and the bad bits all right there on one page and decide that overall you’re happy with how the year went. I feel inspired to tot up my highs and lows and see if the good or bad comes out on top. I suspect it’s always the good for people who look for the silver linings 🙂
You have had quiet a busy year! May 2016 bring you and your family health, happiness, and a lot of laughs!
What a epic year!
