Yesterday I wrote my own ‘bucket list’, and to be honest it didn’t go as I had planned. When I started to think about what I really wanted to achieve in my life, and what I wanted to remembered for, my ‘bucket list” took on a life of its own. So today I decided to do a follow up post, totally unscripted. I have decided to ask my children what it is they would put on their bucket list!
Artwork by Aspen
Aspen actually knew what a bucket list was, here was her list,
- go overseas
- get more pets
- become a Vet
- go parasailing
- own a cafe
- try my very first coffee, I think it might taste interesting
- go to a different adventure park
- go to Paris with Abby (her best friend)
April had no idea what a bucket list was, so I explained. She then answered really quickly,
- meet a unicorn
- get my ears pierced
then she had nothing else to add.
Adam thought quite hard about his answers and came up with his list.
- I wish that everyday was Christmas
- I would like all my cousins to live with me
- I would like more games for the Wii U
- when I grow up I want to have two boys
- I want Aspen and April to stay alive
- I would like to get more dogs, and cats, oh and birds
- I would want to get more Nerf Guns
I love how their minds work. Children are so precious, and this little quote image made me think of just how much I want to hang on to every precious moment with my own.
Have you made a bucket list?
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx

Aren’t kids awesome?! When I was little I wanted so much to meet a real unicorn too so I totally get your daughter’s wish. I was obsessed with unicorns when I was little:-)
I brought her a gorgeous unicorn print for her bedroom wall for Xmas, hopefully that will suffice for now!
Oh my goodness– how precious! Your children must adore animals, since each of them wants more pets and Aspen even wants to be a vet! I’m definitely putting “meet a unicorn” on my bucket list. So cute!! Thank you so much for hosting #mg, Mac! xx
yes I am not sure I can help her achieve the unicorn wish, but I’m glad she is dreaming big!
I would like a unicorn as well! It certainly is ‘out-of-the-mouths of babes’. I love the innocence of children and wish we could keep them that way. Looks like you have done a great job in teaching your children to aim high. Thanks for the linkup Mackenzie
Yes a unicorn would be pretty cool
Oh bless, I love your childrens answers. I would love to go back to a time when my goals in life were to taste my first coffee and meet a unicorn.
I love that you son wants his sisters tonstay alive too 😀
Thank you for hosting, #mg
I know I was surprised by the keep my sisters alive one, what makes them think these things? He’s a cutie
haha I love bucket lists anyway but this is great! – I also want to meet a unicorn so if you figure that out then let me know ! :p #Mg
if I work out how, I will let you know I promise
This is such a great idea! April’s list is fab. I love how Adam’s list is a wish list – he has some amazing ones there. Very cool that Aspen wants to become a vet! Thank you for hosting #MG xx
Yes she actually surprised me by the Vet comment, I hadn’t known that.
The Tubblet would also have unicorns on her list as well! Some great things here that I hope you get to do. Thank you for hosting each week. Hope this week is calmer than when we last spoke 🙂
a much better week, thank you xx
This is fantastic. I love April’s so much. It would be hard to come up with anything else after the meeting a unicorn one! Love it. They’re all great lists in their own way.
Hope you’re having a better week Mackenzie. xx
Thanks for hosting #mg
Thank you and yes a much better week!
This is the sweetest thing I’ve read in a while, Mac. Love the graphic too!
Lovely post! Meeting a unicorn is definitely on mine too! Plus the Christmas one as well! I love how kids think!
She would love it, but she’ll have to put up with toy unicorns and a gorgeous unicorn print this year
Comming back from #abitofeverything. Thanks for linking up xx
What a lovely idea asking them of their bucket list… I love adam’s one where he’s wishing everyday is Christmas, so cute! lovely quote too, I wish i could hold them forever. #mg
they grow up so fast!
What a lovely idea to do with your children! #mg xx
it was great fun
I don’t have a written bucket list, but it was a brilliant idea to ask your children. You should ask them once a year and save their answers, how cool it would be to have books made for each of them with hand-drawn pictures to give them when they are grown up! Hold tight!!!
loving your idea! Thanks x
Oh no I was sure I had linked up, I did do it quickly at work, sorry Mac. These are lovely lists, I love how simple they mostly are, especially April’s – bless her! I’m off to browse my computer to see what went wrong xx
