Last weekend was a very special weekend, and also incredibly busy! Why would anyone decide to move house and have their two daughters celebrate their confirmation on the same weekend? For us it’s just the way it happened. We spent all day Saturday loading a truck, cleaning up the old house and unpacking at the temporary house. We were so blessed with many wonderful helpers who consisted of family and close friends (I can not thank you enough)! By the time night fell we were all exhausted and had a few aches and pains as well.
The next morning we were up before the sun. To feel a bit more special I organised a hairdresser to do the girls hair and a beauty therapist to do mine and my mums nails (we needed this after the day before). It reminded me of my wedding morning all getting prettied up. Except this time the day was about my two sweet girls and the choice they had made to be confirmed.
It was a beautiful Spring day, actually surprisingly warm for this time of year in Melbourne, we felt so lucky. The service was gorgeous, all the children were students from our children’s school so it was very intimate and personal. The girls were super excited and felt very special. They were spoiled with gifts too. We had a joint party with all the families after the service and one of my closest friends made a gorgeous cake for our children to share.
We let the girls stay on at friends houses to continue their happy day, whilst we went back to reality with unpacking and sorting out spaces for all of our things. It was such a big weekend and although tired we couldn’t have been prouder of our daughters.
