Going through the Mummy Shot community photographs this week there was one strong message that kept coming through, and that was how we all need to hug our children a little tighter this week. In the aftermath of the tragedy in Manchester earlier this week many of you have posted on social media just how saddened you are. Any loss of life is just so sad, but to lose your children when they are out at a concert is just so cruel. I will never understand how anyone can take another’s life, and to target children, and such young adults is just heartless.

My heart goes out to all of those affected in Manchester and to all parents who have lost their child, and all those who lost someone they loved. There really is nothing more precious than being a parent, so today please remember how precious our children are, hug them tight, tell them you love them. Don’t let tragedies like this be the only time we remember how blessed we truly are to have these little people in our lives.

Today instead of simply picking my favourite from the #mummyshot community I have chosen to share some of the images that accompanied words of care and compassion for those lives lost.

First of all I would like to share this quote with you that was shared by @whitecamellias   this week along with the gorgeous photo featured below.

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”

Thank you to everyone who joins our mummy shot community, we just love looking through all the beautiful images.

You are truly such a thoughtful, and beautiful community.

My favourite #mummyshot from my co-host Catie this week is

My own favourite was of my little boy reminding me of all that is beautiful in this world, family, nature, happiness, kindness and love.

If you would like a chance to be featured by Catie or myself, simply tag your #mummyshot photos on Instagram. You can see Catie’s favourites HERE.

If you would like more information about what #MummyShot is you can read “Introducing Mummy Shot”

It is really all about capturing emotion, or a story without seeing your child’s full face in the photograph.

Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx
