Do you ever feel like there is not enough hours in the day? I do. I feel that way most days. By the time I get my work done, do the school runs, homework, after school activities and more, it just feels like there is never enough ‘down time’. So when this weeks Friday Reflections prompts included
“What is your favourite way to spend your day/s?”
I have to say “by adding on some extra hours”. And that is just for starters.
There is so much that I would dream of fitting into my day if it was too be my favourite day.
Firstly a sleep in, not too late, just enough to wake up without an alarm. A croissant for breakfast with butter and home-made Jam (only not made by me, because I am not a great cook).
Hugs with my hubby and kids, all of us piled in, and surrounded by our pets.
Yoga in the morning sun.
My day would also involve a walk on the beach, exploring the rock pools, a swim with my dad.
A great book!
Me writing some of my book.
Taking photographs.
Laughter, a great day must involve loads of giggles, mine and those around me.
Eating scones, my hubby makes awesome scones.
Coffee too, it can’t be a great day without coffee.
A shopping trip with my mum and sister.
A lazy lunch with girlfriends.
Playing board games with my children.
Cuddling with my animals.
A fabulous home cooked dinner. Maybe even a BBQ at my parents house with my extended family. Relaxing in their beautiful backyard.
Watching something great on TV, loving the show ‘The Walking Dead’ at the moment.
Cup of tea and some chocolate. Dark chocolate.
Snuggling on the couch with hubby.
As you can see, I may need some extra time to fit all that in one day, so I may have to do it all over a few days. My favourite days are usually the days where we are just together as a family, playing games, walking the dogs. Days staying at the beach, and cousins all playing together. It is always more about the people we surround ourselves with than the where we are or what we are doing.

I was reading your blog, looking at your pictures and I joined you in your perfect day. I miss the beach and warm weather (where did spring go?!?).
Even though I’m home, I still wish I had longer days.
Thanks for the awesome link party!
Awe thanks Debbie, I am so glad you are enjoying the link party, your link ups have been awesome every single week. Thinking of you, stay positive and strong xx
Love your perfect day. Reminds me of some perfect days in my life. These days, a perfect day is one when I can write undisturbed all day long. Never enough time in the day to do all I want. Try to stretch it out, sleep late, get up early. Still, not enough time.
I know there is just never enough time, a few extra writing hours would be amazing. Thanks for fitting me into your day today
Ooh! I love this post. Now I want to think about my “perfect day”. Great pictures by the way.
Thanks for sharing.
Loved your poem! Thanks for coming by xx
Love this post! I’m constantly saying if there were only more hours in the day!
I’m going to participate tomorrow :). Thanks Mac! Have a great weekend!!
I often think this, I am so short of time especially at the moment, once I’ve taken care of everyone else there is very little time for me! Your perfect day does sound perfect xx
I can only imagine how time poor you must be right now, your thoughts and time must be so taken up. Try and fit in at least a five minute gap just for you. 5 extra shower minutes, or stop for a sneaky coffee or luscious wine and just savour it. Take care, much love xx
Ah we can all dream! Loved your description, Mac. Those scones look yummy!
Man Im hungry now! Nothing beats fresh scones, jam and cream (proper cream!). I have so many versions of a favourite day…it all depends on the mood Im in and the energy levels!
You have just described the perfect 36 hour day. I love it, especially all the cuddling and eating of scones, chocolate, etc. Your day and mine are pretty close to the same thing, even though my kids are grown. Gave me the warm fuzzies reading this… 😀
Thanks Cathy
I wish every day for more hours to do more of the lovely things you described. I try to forgo sleep so I can fit extra stuff in, then after a few days I crash. LOL. I catch-up on my rest and start again…
Whhhhhaaaaaattttt? Your husband makes scones? LUCKY!
He’s a great cook, I am lucky as I’m a hopeless cook lol
