It feels like my little world has been a bit chaotic lately, not in a really bad way or anything, more in a happy, but just a really busy way. I guess selling your home and choosing a new one and moving house whilst having 3 kids, 3 kittens and 2 dogs to care for will do that. Add in a tropical holiday, a funeral, buying a new car and organising a confirmation and a 6 year olds birthday party and yep life is chaotic! Today is the beginning of two weeks of school holidays here too, so we have lots of play dates already locked in. With all the business of life it is always great to come across people who are looking on the bright side and remembering to celebrate the ‘small stuff’. We should be grateful for what we have and not always focussed on what we wish we had, or all the things we ‘should be’ doing!
I came across a link this week 10 things that made me happy this week by Krysten @ Why Girls Are Weird and Lindsay @ The Flynnigans so here I am writing my list and linking up, after all why not? It is a great way for me to focus on what made me smile this week.
- Booking my son’s party, he will be six in just a couple of weeks and he was super excited to hand out his birthday invites to all his classmates.
- My girls chose to be confirmed this week, they looked divine in their gorgeous dresses and were so happy making this choice that they couldn’t stop smiling.
- Our house has finally settled, yes it is all over, we have moved out and the money is in the bank. Such a huge relief, now we can go ahead and proceed with building our new home.
- Friends and Family! We would have been lost trying to move everything ourselves, we had so may people help and so many more who offered to help, thank you for your support.
- Sunshine! We have had some lovely weather and it feels so good! I was especially grateful for nice weather on our moving day.
- Picnics. Today my girls decided to make a picnic lunch. The sun is shining and we sat on the lawn in the beautiful garden where we are living at the moment. The girls did an awesome job putting it all together and even cleaned it all up!
- Playing soccer with my son, as above we are enjoying this gorgeous weather.
- Coffee, I am always grateful for coffee and especially Friday morning coffee with the school mums.
- School Holidays are here again, nice to not have to rush in the mornings and enjoy extra cuddles with my kids.
- Birds, I am loving that every morning I wake up to beautiful bird songs.
So there is my list, why don’t you leave me a comment below and tell me at least one thing you are feeling grateful for this week?
Thanks for doing me, love Mackenzie xx

All very precious memories that you’re building with your family. You’ve got a heck of a lot going on and you’re doing a fine, fine job of juggling/balancing it all.
I love that you can make me smile meme. It’s cute. 😉
Thanks for linking up lady xox
Thanks Lindsay, so happy to have linked up xx
Loved the cartoon! 🙂
Glad to hear your house settled…congrats! 🙂 And yay for school holidays…I don’t have kids but school holidays for me means fewer referrals at work and less traffic on the roads. 🙂
Hope you have a good week ahead!
Everyone is talking about coffee and Im thinking I should have just given in a bought some while I was shopping. Reading your list made me happy! Six is such a fun age. My youngest is 6. I hope this week is just as wonderful for you!
I’m grateful for coffee too. I’ve been getting into the different flavors of coffee creamer really…actually, sometimes I put coffee in my creamer. Not so good for the ole waist line, but it makes me happy. 🙂 Sounds like you’ve had your hands full! Thank goodness for friends and family. Glad you’re in a more settled place…gosh, 6 years old. What a great age! How exciting for the little guy. <3
What a great list!
