How beautiful is it to rest!
How beautiful is it just to take a moment and do nothing, to rest your body and your mind. How amazing to be able to refill your cup when it is empty. How often do you allow that for yourself?
What if you allowed your mind to dream, your soul to be at peace, your body to be still, what if you let yourself be quiet? Wouldn’t that be amazing.
What if I said to you
“you have done enough for today, rest, be thankful for today, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to replenish”
would you listen?
The past weeks have been so full on for me and for my family. Last weekend was amazing, but also left me tired. Then on Monday Steve headed to Sydney for work, I went to work, the kids to school, and life went on as usual. Not only was I depleted by the time Friday came around this week, so was my family. We all needed a rest, we all needed someone to say “you’ve done enough, rest!”
So I said it. I told Steve that this weekend was going to be low key, we were not going to schedule anything major, we were not going to exhaust ourselves.
Our weekend consisted of sleeping in Saturday, Hubby then went for a 94 kilometre bike ride (his idea of rest lol). Saturday afternoon we took the girls over to their friends for a play whilst Steve, Adam and I ordered pizza and played board games galore. We then went to pick up the girls and have a drink with our friend.
Sunday we slept in, we had breakfast at 10am! My daughters bestie came for a play and my friend shared coffee with me. The girls made an amazing coconut cake and April posed for photos in her new dress. That’s it! It was lovely!
I had some fun playing with a new editing photo App on my iPhone 6+ This photo is untouched.
Then I had some fun editing with the VSCO App, it was my first try using it, see what you think.
I feel much more refreshed after relaxing. What about you, what did you get up to last weekend? Did you manage to get some rest?
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx
