Have you ever felt really frumpy? Just bloated and sluggish? I have, in fact I felt that way just yesterday. I looked at my wardrobe and hated all my clothes. When I decided on an outfit and finally braved getting dressed I felt horrible in it. I wanted to throw every outfit in my cupboard out and start a fresh, (if only my bank account and social concious would allow). The thing is, as lovely as a bunch of new outfits would have been, I still would have felt yuck! Because it was not my clothes that were the problem, it was my attitude!

Today I want to talk to you about having a positive attitude when it comes to your body. Hate it, like it, loathe it, or love it, it is your body and the more positive you feel regarding your body image, the better your day is going to turn out.
If you walk out the door feeling frumpy, or unattractive it will affect the day you are going to have, the whole day. You will approach tasks and people with a negative vibe, but don’t fear, it doesn’t have to be that way!
It’s a bit like getting out of bed on the wrong side, it actually makes no difference, you still look the same, you are still the same person, but once you allow a negative thought in it changes the direction of your day. You are what you believe, and if you believe you will have a bad day because you got out on the wrong side of the bed then you will create that result. Just like if you walk around feeling frumpy, you will appear frumpy because you will smile less, not be as friendly or approachable and will walk around looking sad and sorry for yourself.
So how do you turn a bad day around? Easy, well easy if you believe it is possible! First step is to remember this
One bad moment, does not have to right off your whole day! You have the power to turn the day around.
Imagine that, all this time you thought you had no choice, well you were wrong, you have a choice and it is time to stop having bad days. We all have bad moments, but we don’t have to turn them into  bad days.
OK so you feel frumpy, nothing looks good on you today. It is in these moments that you need to readjust your attitude. Here are some tools to help you.
Positive affirmations: Instead of saying negative things to yourself, start saying some positive affirmations. Here are some helpful thoughts.

“I am beautiful inside and out”.

“I deserve good things in my life”.

“I welcome good things and great people into my life”.

“I am open to new experiences”.

I am worthy of love, self love and happiness”.

“I am awesome”.

“I am powerful, strong and beautiful”.

If you can, stand in the mirror and tell yourself one of these out loud at least 3 times.

Time to choose the perfect outfit. Go for something that is not baggy, chose something that falters your figure, even if you don’t feel great today, remember it’s in your mind, your mind is playing tricks on you so don’t let it win, put on one of your favourite outfits and feel great.
Lipstick. It can be incredibly empowering going make up free, but some days require a little lipstick. Some days a bright lipstick can distract from tired eyes. Pop on your favourite lip gloss or lipstick and rock it. (Check out this post.)

Crank up the music and dance. Dancing can turn your day around, pop on your favourite dancy tune and bust a move, act totally silly and sexy, dance like no ones watching (because they’re not). Just go totally nuts and laugh at yourself, maybe even jump on the bed. If your partners around make them join in, if you have kids they will love it too.
Smile! Smiling can trick your brain into believing you are happy, so if you have to then fake it ’til you make it.
Be friendly. Say hi to people on the street, in the office, or in the supermarket. Wherever you go be friendly, compliment people, and spread happiness. Making others feel good, makes us feel great!

Believe in yourself. Believe you deserve good things, that you are worthy of happiness and love.
Give these steps a go and I guarantee you will turn you day around. Don’t give into those frumpy, negative thoughts, just throw on an outfit, and totally rock it!
