When it comes to chocolate can you say no? For me it is one of those pleasures in life that I find it very hard to resist. The darker the better for me and unfortunately the better quality, the more expensive the chocolate. And let’s just say, I like expensive chocolates. My eldest daughter Aspen has inherited my love of dark and expensive chocolates, but is it any wonder? My husband is as bad as me! Yes we both have a sweet tooth so our poor children are innocent victims to our chocolate loving gene. Our two younger children prefer white chocolate and both love mint chocolate too, (they don’t get that from me).
Recently Aspen turned 11, and as you most likely know, she had a surprise party with 22 friends AT HOME, (yes I am that crazy)! It was a great success, and I am (as is my carpet), very pleased that Aspen has awesome and well behaved friends. One of her gifts was a chocolate bar making set, and O my gosh you can imagine how HAPPY this made my daughter. For two weeks she has been nagging me to let her make these bars, finally I gave in, she was super excited to get started.
Here I have put together a clip of Aspen’s chocolate making experience.
It was awesome fun, and we ended up with loads of chocolate to share. I would totally recommend this for any kids into chocolate and creativity as much as Aspen is.
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx

I love the look of absolute concentration on Aspen’s face when she was sprinkling the marshmallows in to the mould! A true depiction of living in the moment! Thanks for sharing, cooking with kids is so satisfying especially when it’s chocolate!!
Yes she loved it Lisa and it was fun for all of us xx
We love chocolate too! My husband will pick up a special bar for us each time he goes to the grocery and we will sit and enjoy it with a beer. It’s our “us” time after a long week!
I know it is so addictive xx
What an absolutely BRILLIANT thing to do!!! I love the thought of creating my own chocolate bar!! Like you I am totally — and utterly — addicted to the stuff. Lindt 70% is my favourite ‘every-day- chocolate. I can’t get enough of it!! 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday x
