Another week has quickly passed by. It’s Friday again and time to reflect on my thoughts this week. Hope you can join me for a read and a glass of wine, or a cup of tea, and reflect on your week too.
Here are this Fridays prompts:
Write about someone who has impacted your life for the better.
What does growing older mean to you?
Reflect on this quote: “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.” Plato
This week I have decided to write about someone who has impacted my life for the better. Naturally there is a whole array of wonderful people in my life who have made incredibly positive impacts in my life. To mention just one seems impossible, but today I have chosen to talk about my daughter Aspen.
In just 3 sleeps Aspen will be eleven, in fact tomorrow is her birthday party and I have been sneakily inviting her friends for a surprise party.
12 years ago I feared that I would never be able to have a child, I was terrified that I was unable to ever carry a baby to full term. I had already lost two pregnancies and my body shut down due to stress. I completely stopped ovulating. But Aspen was determined to be born, and 11 years ago she was born safely into this world, my miracle baby. On that day my life changed for the better, and the impact she has had on my life has been overwhelmingly positive.
I know she is may daughter so naturally I think she is perfect, but she is such an amazing young girl. She is super compassionate, she is the type of child that never leaves anyone out (hence the amount of friends I have included at her party). She is so full of empathy which is beautiful, but it does cause her a lot of heartbreak. She would go without just to make someone else happy. She is a truly beautiful soul.
She is very clever, creative and artistic. I cannot draw, like really I can’t, unless you count stick figures. Yet she draws the most beautiful pictures. And she is funny, and a little nuts like her mum.
Everyday she makes me strive to be a better person, a better role model. She brings out my fun side, my silly side, and she gives me the best hugs.
Aspen has totally impacted my life for the better, she inspires me with her strength, she moves me with her heart, and she wows me with her endless talents. Because of her I am happier, braver, softer and stronger.
Happy birthday my beautiful daughter.
Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx
