Ok! So it’s time for a little happiness in your day! So I have decided to add a little sparkle that will hopefully make you smile!
Did you think I was serious about the sparkle? Because if you didn’t, well I guess I’ll just have to convince you how serious I was!
OK, so I have I managed to convince you to sparkle? Or are you just feeling overloaded by sparkle right about now?
We all deserve to feel happy, and unfortunately it is not always as easy as adding a dash of fabulous sparkle and suddenly we feel like we are beautiful, fabulous, and carefree. But one thing I know that makes me feel brighter on a day where I am feeling down, unattractive, rushed off my feet, sick, or I’m just in a crappy mood, is to think about the things I have to be grateful for.
I keep a gratitude diary/journal and I find that no matter how down I am I can always come up with a couple of things that I am grateful for or happy about.
So here is my list for today!
- All the wonderful people who support and read my blog, thank you!
- My kids have finished school for the year and I get to enjoy quality time with them and sleep ins!
- My kids and I are heading off in 3 sleeps to the beach for a holiday with my gorgeous sister and her even more gorgeous kids!
- The support of my parents, love you both!
- Coffee and a long overdue catch up and shopping trip with my lovely friend yesterday!
- My new Country Road Tote, it may be superficial to name a bag, but I’m in love with it!
- Christmas is coming, and my 6 year old is about to burst (seriously burst) with anticipation, he is so cute I could scoop him up and eat him right now!
- So proud of all my children right now, I had happy tears yesterday as I just can’t believe how far they have come, their confidence has grown, and they are just so thoughtful and supportive of others. I am feeling like a proud momma right now! Oh, and their school reports were amazing.
- Great weather, it has been so lovely lately, sunshine is so welcomed by me right now, it just puts me in a better mood instantly.
- Reading, I feel like I don’t make enough time for it, but when I sit down with a proper paper back I just love it.
So there is my list, now it’s time for you to make yours! Or just share one thing with me in my comment section below, or tweet me @macglanville with what makes you happy! Oh and don’t forget you were born to sparkle.

That’s a lovely thing that makes you happy
Oh Mackenzie I feel all happy and sparkly just reading this post. What a fab list of things to be grateful for. It’s wonderful to hear that your children are doing so well. We’re all writing one thing we’re grateful for on each day of advent and swapping our gratitude notes for the chocolate inside. My little man has said that he’s grateful for jumping and running almost everyday so far. 🙂 Enjoy your break at the beach xx #happydiaries
what a gorgeous idea! Oh your son sounds so adorable xx
thanks for making my Friday Sparkle Mackenzie and for reminding me to get back to my gratitude list. Have a wonderful time with your sister and children at the beach 🙂 xx
Gratitude lists are a great way to remember just how many great things we have in our lives xx
Beautiful images, I just love to look at all that sparkle! Thanks for reminding me about the importance of sparkle, just thinking about the word makes me feel lighter and brighter 🙂 It sounds like you certainly have a lot to be grateful for – I think a new bag from Country Road would add a bit of sparkle to my life too! I’m just grateful for this time in my life, being home with my baby. #happydiarylinky
oh what a positive comment, thank you for stopping by! Enjoy your baby xx
Well hello darling 🙂
I feel the exact same way; no matter how down or crap things seem, I’m always able to pull a few things, even if they seem small and insignificant.
Do enjoy your time at the beach; sounds incredible Momma! 😉
Have a lovely weekend my friend xox
Thank you, I know I can’t wait to head off tomorrow for our beach trip. Have a wonderful weekend too beautiful xx
Focusing on how grateful I am for my husband and kids really does help me to get through the rough days. Love this post! #Happydiaries
Thanks so much for stopping by Kayla, yes focussing on my kids always makes me happy too x
So many great things to be happy about. Done with school? We have one more week until Christmas break and I am so ready for it! LOL
This is lovely. It’s so easy to fall into the moaning trap (guilty of it) and it’s alot harder to focus on the positives – it sometimes takes a great deal of effort. Life is chaotic for me and I moan alot – but watching my 4 yr old and 2 yr old singing on stage at the Pre school nativity play makes it all worth it (proud Mummy moment) I am grateful for the chaos because I can’t imagine what it would be like without it x
yes they can drive us crazy, but they are the best things in our lives x
Hurrah! More positivity please.
I journal too, love it. I have ‘The 5-Minute Journal’ & I love it.
The quickest way to snap out of a grump it to picture your life without your family. You quickly appreciate that being stuck in traffic isn’t really such a terrible thing!!
couldn’t agree more! Thanks for your lovely comment xx
Great list of wonderful and happy things… We have all a lot of things to be thankful of, we just have to dig deep and appreciate every little positive things that come our way and surely we will find numerous things to be grateful of. #FabFridayPost

What an inspiring list! Today I’m grateful for FaceTime. My best mate is away and I was able to chat to her whilst we were both cooking dinner and it was like hanging out. #FabFridayPost
sounds like fun!
Twinkle on shining star! I hope you enjoy your break. Sarah
you too beautiful xx
I love Sparkles too, but never really think about the meanings of it all. Thank you for defining it – you have just explained what I needed – a dose of Sparkles. I am just a little tired right now as I have had so little sleep. Evelyn has a full blown cold. She has been sneezing and eyes teary all day. But I am thankful that at the very least she still have her appetite. This evening she ate 1 whole avocado all by herself! I am so happy! 🙂 Thank you so much for linking up with me again. You have made me so happy to be linking up with me too. Enjoy the holidays! xx #FabFridayPost
