There is nothing better when you have felt run down and exhausted than taking a holiday, or at the very least a mini break. Only plans don’t always go the way you intended do they? Life has a funny way of presenting you with both up’s and down’s you were not expecting. So you roll with the punches and go with the flow, and usually things figure themselves out.
It is no secret that I have been a little run down lately, but things were looking up as the end of last week rolled around and we had a 4 day weekend planned. We had booked a gorgeous holiday home in Phillip Island with friends. It was just what we all needed!! Despite a couple of small issues, like Aspen vomiting on night two and a noisy dripping drainpipe outside our room, not to mention the giant Spider in my friends bedroom, all went really well! We had a ball exploring Phillip Island, I hadn’t been there in years and Steve and our children had never been. I will share a heap of pics so you can see what we got up to! If you ever head there make sure you do the Penguin Parade there are so many penguins and they are so very adorable!! We almost missed it, but thank goodness we just made it in time.
Earlier that day Aspen was playing mini golf when she slipped and fell against a rock hitting her right arm very hard. After being assessed and a trip to the doctors we just made it to the parade. My friend had taken April and Adam with her family and after we got the all clear from the doctor we joined them.
After the X-ray showed it was soft tissue damage and severe bruising we were relieved it wasn’t a cracked bone. She will wear a sling for a while as she is in a lot of pain when she tries to move her arm. But still she had a fabulous trip, we all did, even if things didn’t go quite as planned we all chose to look at the positives and still enjoy a great family fun weekend!
Aspen in the water
Aspen with her friend from school strolling along the beach and exploring
Adam having fun with the illusions
fun with friends, making childhood memories
the wise Koala, looks like she is doing Yoga
What did you get up to over the weekend?
Thanks for joining me, love Mac xx

Amazing pictures. I have always, always wanted to go to Philip Island but it’s a bit of a trek from the UK! Now with all those lovely pictures I want to go more. It’s a shame the mini golf turned out so badly, I hope Aspen is on the mend xx #bestandworst
Yes it’s beautiful. There are so many places I want to visit in the UK too. One day hopefully
Wow your photos are stunning lovely! I’m sorry that you had a few challenges on your holiday as I know that you were ready for a nice relaxing break. It’s great that you have not allowed them to spoil anything though and gone ahead to have a fantastic time. Dawn x
