As we travelled through the heads into Port Phillip Bay we could see the familiar sights like the Point Lonsdale Light House and the beaches of Queenscliff, Serento and Portsea as we travelled past the Bellarine Peninsula and the Mornington Peninsula. It was a Sunday afternoon and the sun shone brightly over the ocean, we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins and seals at play. Many people were out making the most of the sunshine, the sea was a sight of sail boats and jet skis. In the distance across the bay we could see the tall Melbourne buildings, and as much as I longed for more time in the beautiful and scenic state of Tasmania I couldn’t deny that I was thrilled to see my home city standing tall in the distance. It felt like home.
This photograph is taken from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry at Port Melbourne where we docked.
